Miracle A/S |
About Jakob Hammer-Jakobsen is a very seasoned software developer/administrator working primarily with Oracle based solution since the late eighties. Jakob works 99% of the time at client sites; helping out with the work "left over" from the in-house development/administration. At lot of repairing and redesign and performance base lining, tuning is done on that accord. Spending most of his time troubleshooting client problems, Jakob has seen lots and lots of issues in and around Oracle based environments. From old forms c/s applications (2.0) to modern JSF based web applications, From small databases to Tb sized databases. Right now Jakob is overseeing a transformation of on older 9i Forms application into a new ADF Faces based application, at the same time trying to grasp the intricacies of a huge financial poor performing application with hundreds of users spread across Europe. Both projects goal is to establish baselines for performance/functionality using the new Fusion tools (ADF/EM) leveraging the new features from 10 and 11R2. Jakob speaks to clients every day and brings a technological perspective to "normal" business operations, and a business perspective to "normal" technological operations. |

Session description |
Fusion Middleware ADF |
In this session Jakob will demonstrate the concepts and ideas behind Oracle "new" development stack: Fusion Middleware with focus on ADF Faces. The strength of ADF Faces is its strong proven programming model, combined with a vivid interface solely delivered by standard HTTP - no applets involved. Forms without the lock-in of the server core and the Java applet, and with an interface which can rival real c/s based applications. In the session Jakob will present similarities and differences between Oracle Forms and the ADF framework. You will need hands-on knowledge of Oracle Forms and Oracle database functionality, as well as a basic knowledge of webbased java applications and Ajax. Some of the session will use the ASH tables as data source to demonstrate the application of ADF technology to a traditional administrator based work area. While SQL*plus is a Swiss knife for administrators, it seldom brings workable insight to the decision makers. ADF Faces will. |
