- PL/SQL Unit Testing Can Be Fun

Unit testing and TDD are key software development practices but unfortunately few PL/SQL developers are using them. The first unit testing framework utPLSQL is not maintained anymore. Then there are visual GUI tools like Quest Code Tester and SQL Developer with unit testing support. But still many do not find them attractive and easy to use.
In comparison Ruby community has very high testing culture and many good testing tools and they could be reused for PL/SQL testing as well. Presenter has created open-source ruby-plsql library for calling PL/SQL procedures from Ruby and ruby-plsql-spec testing framework. It provides much shorter and readable syntax for unit tests compared to other existing frameworks and brings fun to unit testing.
